How to choose your wedding location – the story of brides and weddings on how they said «yes» to the perfect location

We host and organize weddings in the tent on the lake and organize weddings. We’ve been doing it for 10 years. Over time I have noticed that choosing the location for the wedding is not exactly easy for many of you, future brides. This is not surprising, given the generous offer of event venues across the country, not just in Bucharest.

This is how we came up with the idea of ​​asking some of our brides how they discovered the tent on the lake and having weddings and why they chose it. Furthermore, they told us how they decided to take the plunge and choose the middle to share the good and the bad in their lives.

Bogdana, Larisa and Oana are the three dear brides who gave us the opportunity to ask them some questions. Before reading the interviews we invite you to let yourself be overwhelmed by the moments of magic, joy and love linked to the photos of their weddings. 1. Wedding with mountain excursion – Bogdana and Catalin

IDO: Briefly tell us the story of the moment you decided to get married.

Bogdana: We are one of the couples who have chosen to have weddings. We have been living in the UK since 2015 and in 2017 we decided to get married, we have been together 10 years, we felt it is «our 10 moment». I always dreamed of an «otherwise» wedding, probably that’s why I stayed 10 years, I hadn’t discovered it and Weddings (laughs).

I always imagined that my wedding would be different, that it would represent us, it wouldn’t be a «standard» wedding… as I continued, I felt I wasn’t in the position of a normal venue.

I DO: What was the first step you took to discover wedding venues in Bucharest?

Bogdana: I started to be more interested in choosing the wedding location, I received advice and opinions such as: the location to be in Bucharest, taking into account the guests, where they live, so that it is not very far away, but being close to the church, taking care of the number of guests, etc.

I DO: How many locations did you visit before choosing the place where you will get married?

Bogdana: We had been in the UK for 2 years so didn’t have the opportunity to look at many locations. Also, the guest list wasn’t very long, which is why we were a little worried because most restaurants in Bucharest impose a number of people.

However, we decided to see a location in Bucharest, a very nice restaurant, but exactly as I expected, a number of guests was imposed on us, more than 10% for the waiters. Shortly after I searched again on the internet for “otherwise” wedding locations, outdoor locations and look, I discovered what was “my stop” (laughs).

IDO: What are the most important topics that pushed you to choose Do Weddings?

Bogdana: I really didn’t believe I had discovered such a location, a «fairytale» location in the tent, with lake, pier, red carpet, outdoors. I was simply amazed to discover such a place so close to Bucharest.

I picked up the phone and called, I spoke to Simona, one of the Wedding Planners, who offered me all the information I wanted. I was once again amazed to find that we will not pay tent rent or something else, especially since I noticed that tent locations charge such costs, that we do not have to have a certain number of guests, and for 10% for guests it was not. What I had dreamed of was solved.

Although the tent is very spacious, we were left wondering for a while, but after the information received we realized that everything is perfect. I also encountered the difficulty of the distance. I do Weddings is not in Bucharest, consequently the «commentators» did not take long to appear: too far away, with what we arrive, there are no taxis, etc. I rented a bus and that’s how I solved the problem. I was in the UK so I couldn’t see the location in reality, but I knew it was exactly my soul, I didn’t think about it. What we liked even more was the fact that we had the opportunity to see their original ideas regarding the setup, we were able to add decoration details according to our taste, setups that represent us, full of originality. Things just went so well, so I knew and felt that only at I Weddings would I be a satisfied and happy bride. So I sent my sister to book the location, even though I had only seen it in photos online.

Then, as soon as I got permission, we went to the tent to see the location live, everything was as I imagined. I wasn’t left with the fear that it was different from what I had seen in the photo.

Furthermore, at the end of the wedding, the photographer was very impressed with the location, telling us that «it is a beautiful location, they have a lake, there are no mosquitoes, no traces of insects. I DO: How did you find out about I Weddings?

Bogdan: However, I searched the internet for “otherwise” wedding locations, outdoor locations and look, so I found out what was “stop” (laughs). I liked it so much that at the end of the wedding I told Simona that, when I returned home, I would have liked to be part of the I Weddings team! ♥

2. Wedding like a summer night’s dream – Larisa and Alex

I DO: Tell us briefly the story of the moment you decided to get married.

Larisa: We have been together since 2008, we got married civilly in 2015, religiously in 2016 and the party kept it for you, in 2017. The moment came by itself, we were together for some time, we finished college, we moved together, we wanted to get married.

I DO: What was the first step you took to discover wedding venues in Bucharest?

Larisa: I have always said that I will not get married in a restaurant and I will not have a classic wedding. After we got engaged, a dear friend sent me a link to the wedding location, which even seemed to be what I had always dreamed of. But when I mailed it and got replies, it wasn’t what I wanted anymore (laughs). And I remembered that our civil wedding photographer, Relu Draghici, told me about you, and weddings, at our first meeting, so the next step was to contact you and it was the best decision I made.

I DO: How many locations did you visit before choosing the place where you will get married?

Larisa: I didn’t visit anything, not even the chosen location, the tent and the weddings. The first time I saw the tent it was a tasting (laughs). I didn’t feel any emotion for you anyway, I knew it would be great, and it was.

IDO: What are the most important topics that pushed you to choose Do Weddings?

Larisa: The fact that I Weddings came as a recommendation from our photographer was a clear plus. Furthermore, for us it was very important that the place is beautiful, that it is outdoors, near the lake and that there are no classic chairs with covers or bottoms as seen in most restaurants. Furthermore, it was extremely important to us that Wedding Planner and Do Weddings were responsible for everything.

3. Wedding with Lubenita and Mr. Cactus – Oana and Ionut

I DO: Tell us briefly the story of the moment you decided to get married.

Oana: 2 and a half years ago, on my birthday, Ionut decided that he can’t be alone anymore and that he doesn’t know what to buy me for my birthday and so he came up with the idea of ​​asking me, I’m joking (laughs).

On my birthday we went to the botanical garden to walk and admire the flowering trees and the spring atmosphere. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting him to ask, considering we’d been together for almost a year and he didn’t give me the impression that he would like to have a family.

It was a real surprise to see him bandaged up, not knowing how to ask my question. It takes a very hard person to understand, but it’s not like that, it’s our little secret, he shouldn’t know that I said it (laughs).

That was it, we decided to get married 🙂

I DO: What was the first step you took to discover wedding venues in Bucharest?

Oana: I must admit that I wanted a location outside of Bucharest and as close to nature as possible. I had been to a wedding at I Weddings and said that if I ever got married, I would do it there.

So I didn’t spend too much time thinking.
