I decided to meet future brides with some advice on choosing a wedding restaurant.
For the most important event of their lives, the vast majority of brides make some mistakes when choosing the location for the wedding. One of the most common mistakes is to look for a room in the ballroom category near home, as if this were the main criterion in choosing the location. The biggest mistake is looking for a salon for your wedding, not a kindergarten or school near your home.
The main criterion when choosing the wedding location should be the room itself and not the area or location, as long as it is located somewhere in Bucharest or in the immediate vicinity. Rest assured, guests will come wherever you have the wedding as you specify the address of the venue on the invitation. Problems arise when considering a location outside Bucharest. These are related to the transportation of the guests and the fact that in case of transportation of the guests the wedding will end faster because they will go in groups.
Once you have overcome this distance-related prejudice, there are some aspects that you should take into account, i.e. the room you have available is at least 3.5-4 m high, to have air conditioning and non-air conditioning. Air conditioning rectifies the air in a room and at high temperatures (35-37 degrees) very often beats hands. Air conditioning involves the extraction of stale air, the introduction of fresh air from outside and normally in 1 or at most 2 hours the air in the room is completely changed. The air conditioning also does not face problems at high temperatures as is the case with air conditioning.
With or without poles?
Rooms without poles are preferable but unfortunately there aren’t many ballrooms like this, the vast majority have poles, some smaller. In such a situation, if you really like the salon but hesitate because of the pillars you are asked to submit a sketch with positioning at an event to see how much the respective pole observes. I have encountered cases in which the placement, despite having their poles, did not create confusion because by placing the meals in the room, from the garrison you could see any table and also from any meal you could look at the dance floor.
Pay attention to the capacity of the room. It’s hard to believe that, for example, 150 people can fit in 200 m2. Many venues take this type of approach, but you’ll be surprised how many guests will be packed in on the wedding day or there won’t be room on the dance floor.
For each person present at an event it must have a distributed room of approximately 2 m2 and in this way you can calculate very easily, if you have 150 guests you should look for a room of at least 300 m2 and so on.
Another commonly encountered problem is in places with multiple rooms and a single kitchen or set of restrooms. In a location like this, for example, you are likely to make mistakes on the day of the event, being invited to one room and receiving the appetizer from the other room, receiving the food cold or late, etc.
Ideally the location you choose will have a kitchen and toilets for each, so you will be sure that on the evening of your event you will receive the menu according to the signed contract and that you will not be in the toilets. Other elements that can help you in choosing the location could be that it has a garden or a terrace if possible, the swimming pool from my point of view is useless until the wedding takes place in the swimming pool. As a rule, places that have the fee for the pool and the only thing you will benefit from is the fact that you can take photos in the pool, but if the price paid for the pool you will see that it is no longer so profitable.
In the situation where the wedding takes place outdoors, the data of the problem change, then it is better to rent the swimming pool but this is another topic to which I will return with an article in the future. After you have done all these steps and you think you have found the location, a short search in the forums for some reviews of the respective location would help you a lot, because in general the comments on the forums are more difficult to check by the owners of the locations, except for the comments of the ad posted by the administrators of the location, but it can be very simple. Brides or brides with comments on the forum also add photos of their event.
